Mapping population (Location):
Crosses used for mapping. SM=Steptoe x Morex; HM=Harrington x Morex; HT=Harrington x TR306; IF=Igri x Franka; SQ=Steptoe x Q21861; PN=Proctor x Nudinka; mini= selected recombinants for the cross; OWB=Oregon Wolf Barley; BSA=Bulk Segr.; GobC=Gobernadora x CMB643; FosCI=Foster x CI4196;
Locus, probe or marker (Locus; Other_ID; Plasmid):
Lists all loci with sufficient data to be assigned to a chromosome and BIN location, also other identifications that have been used for this locus, and plasmids used to map locus.
Bin marker:
Probe used to identify the beginning of each bin on a specific chromosome. Bin designations were made based on the SM map at approximately 10 cM intervals and can be viewed on the Bin Map.
Chromosome (Chr):
(barley nomenclature) location.
Bin:
Barley nomenclature chromosome number with Triteceae nomenclature in ( ) followed by bin number starting with the short (plus) arm telomere. Bin designations were made based on the SM map at approximately 10 cM intervals and can be viewed on the Bin Map.
Probe or marker copy number (Copy#):
Refers to the estimated number of loci detected by the probe used to map the locus. In some cases single copy, low copy, and multiple copy are indicated by sc, lc, and mc, respectively.Low copy - 2-6 copies. Multiple copies - 6 and more.
Function:
(if known).
RFLP image or plant photo:
Contains a graphic image of a Southern RFLP or plant phenotype photo for mutants. Different images may contain different data
Probe quality (Probe rating)
uses an E for excellent hybridization, single or low copy; G for good hybridization, low copy; F for fair hybridization, many copies; P for poor hybridization; P probes are not recommended and F probes should be used with caution.
Restriction enzyme used to map (Enzymes used to map):
Restriction enzyme used to digest the genomic DNA for mapping of the probe.
Polymorphism data and autoradiographs (Other Poly notes):
Lists which autoradiograph(s) show the polymorphisms of parents used to map this probe. For additional information see RFLP image or plant photo field.
Mapping notes and other notes (Notes):
Lists which autoradiograph(s) show the raw mapping (segr.) data of mapping lines for each cross. Field may contain other information about this probe. Probe plate indicates the NABGMP plate address. (NABGMP - North american Barley Genomics Mapping Project)
Species:
from which the probe was cloned.
Probe type:
cDNA or gDNA for RFLP and known function probes; STS for two primer amplicons; RAPD for single primer amplicons; SSR for simple sequence repeats; AFLP for amplified fragment length poly; morphological, isozyme, physiological and disease resistance;
Insert size (Insert):
Expected cloned fragment size (kbp).
Restriction enzymes used to clone (RE):
Site was used to clone the fragment
Vector:
That the probe is cloned in.
Mapped by:
indicates the lab that provided the mapping data. The lab PI (principal investigator) is indicated first with the person who actually did the work (if known) entered after a /.

Journal citation.
Source of the probe (Source):
NABGMP (North American Barley Genomics Mapping Project) clones available from Dave Kudrna.
Sequenced?
Indicates if probe has been sequenced.
How much sequenced?
Is the probe completely or partially (if so how much kbp) sequenced.
Sequence notes.
Accession number (Acc#):
Sequence has been deposited in a database and given an accession number. (Search the databases at: http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/)
